Nicknames

Customize how your name appears in chat.

Nicknames allow you to change the name other players see when you talk in chat. This is a cosmetic feature meant to give players personality and expression while keeping chat readable and fair.

Unlocking Nicknames

Nicknames are unlocked through rank progression.

  • Adept Rank

    • Unlocks the ability to use nicknames
  • Master Rank

    • Unlocks colored and formatted nicknames

Nicknames do not affect gameplay and are purely visual.

Setting or Resetting Your Nickname

Commands

/nickname <name> /resetnick

  • /nickname sets your nickname

  • /resetnick restores your name to your original Minecraft username

Advanced Nickname Formatting (Master Rank)

At Master rank, you can customize your nickname .

It allows:

  • Custom colors

  • Gradients

  • Bold and other text styles

This gives you full control over how your nickname looks in chat.

Understanding Color Codes & Formatting

Plain Nicknames (No Formatting)

/nickname TTDSaint

Your nickname will appear in the default color (white) with no styling.

Single Color (Hex Color)

We support hex color codes, which look like this:

#20c3d0

Hex colors:

  • Always start with #

  • Use 6 letters/numbers

  • Represent a specific color

Example

<color:#20c3d0>TTDSaint</color>

This makes your nickname a single custom color.

Gradients (Multiple Colors)

Gradients smoothly blend multiple colors across your nickname.

Gradient Format

<gradient:color1:color2:color3>TEXT</gradient>

Each color must be a valid hex code.

Gradient Example (TTDSaint)

<b><gradient:#20c3d0:#b9e8ea:#3fd0d4:#b9e8ea:#20c3d0>TTDSaint</gradient></b>

What Each Part Does

  • <b> → Makes the text bold

  • <gradient:...> → Starts the gradient

  • Hex codes → Define the gradient colors

  • TTDSaint → The nickname text

  • </gradient> → Ends the gradient

  • </b> → Ends bold formatting

Colors blend left to right across the name.

Clears formatting

Formatting can be combined, but excessive styling may be restricted for readability.

Nickname Rules & Limitations

To keep chat clean and fair:

  • No impersonating staff or other players

  • No offensive language or slurs

  • Nicknames must remain readable

  • Overly disruptive formatting may be reset

Staff may reset nicknames that violate rules or affect chat clarity.

Tips for Custom Nicknames

  • Use 2–5 colors in gradients for best readability

  • Avoid colors that blend into chat backgrounds

  • Test your nickname in chat after setting it

If you’re unsure whether a nickname is acceptable, ask first.
