This overhaul focused primarily on the background systems you don’t notice every day…
But when they break, they block the entire community from expanding...
So we rebuilt them from scratch for CubedWorlds.
The big goals
Make the network scalable and consistent across multiple modpacks
Stop relying on fragile “one-off” systems that don’t age well
Reduce chat spam and improve clarity
Make documentation permanent and searchable (Wiki)
Feature upgrades included in this revamp
Global cosmetics & capability showcases
Custom chat color system (including gradients returning, now as a global identity feature)
/pweather, /heal, /discordlink (showcase features demonstrating our development control)
Discord integration overhaul
No more “one bot per server” behavior.
Works across the network, not just the hub.
Messaging improvements (less spam, more signal)
Join/switch/leave messaging rebuilt so you don’t see:
“player left hub → joined pve2”
when you’re chilling on pve1.
AFK system overhaul
You’ll actually get meaningful warning that you’re about to be kicked.
No more “kicked mid-message with no clear warning” vibe.
Hub spawn fixed
Hub spawn behavior has been corrected.
Everyone is sent to the proper hub spawn point on first login.
Cleaner UI + system messaging
Better differentiation between player chat and system messages.
Less noisy “wall of text” behavior overall.
Changelog
This post is not the full list. A dedicated changelog post will be published after launch:
Revamp Changelog: (pending Launch)
The new Wiki
We’re launching a real Wiki on the website.
Instead of dumping endless lines of text in-game, the Wiki will cover:
Economy
Sign shop creation & usage
Ranks + LUP progression
Chat colors
Network-specific MMO-style features
And more as we continue building
The Wiki is still under construction—but it’s live and will expand rapidly now that the foundation is done.
