How Ranks Work Now: Modpack Families + Global Ranks
This revamp fixes a major issue from the past: unclear rank rules and progress that didn’t persist in a fair way.
From now on, ranks are split into two layers:
Modpack ranks (progression via LUP per modpack family)
Global ranks (donator tiers + global identity features)
1) Modpack ranks: family-based identity
Your rank + total LUP are now tied to a modpack family, not a single server generation.
Example: All The Mods family
ATM9 → ATM10 → ATM11
Your identity and progress carry forward through the family line.
This is designed so you don’t lose your “character” every time the modpack scene evolves.
Important note: which packs are in the ATM family?
At launch:
The All The Mods family tree does not automatically include:
All The Mods To The Sky
All The Mons
We will monitor release parity and long-term maintenance cost. If those packs slow down or diverge enough that maintaining separate progression becomes unfair or overly expensive for the dev team, we may merge them into the main ATM family later.
2) Global ranks: network-wide tiers + global identity
Previously, donor ranks being tied to a single modpack felt wrong for what they cost.
Now:
Donator-only ranks become Global Ranks
Global features (like custom chat color gradients & Nicknames) are tied to your global identity, not a single modpack
This also sets the foundation for future global features.
Discounts / upgrades (confirmed)
We are retaining the ability to upgrade:
Ascendant → Mythical
… for the same pricing logic as before, including the discount benefit you get by earning prior tiers.
