New Promotions System: LUP (Level-Up Points)

We’re introducing a new promotions system across all standard (non-legacy) CubedWorlds servers.

Core:

Ranks are no longer playtime-dependent.
Playtime still earns points, but the main progression is now based on doing things in-game.

This system is called LUP — Level-Up Points.

What is LUP?

LUP is your long-term progression score. You earn it through:

  1. Active playtime (passive earning while you play)
  2. Daily tasks
  3. Weekly tasks
  4. Milestones (one-time long-term goals)

This makes progression feel more rewarding and avoids the old “idle = rank” vibe.

How you earn LUP (current values)

These are the values we’re launching with:

Playtime

  • 10 LUP per hour of active playtime

Dailies

  • Completing a daily task: +3 LUP
  • Completing all daily tasks: Perfect Day bonus +6 LUP
  • Reset @ 00:00 UTC Every Day

Weeklies

  • Completing a weekly task: +20 LUP
  • Completing all weekly tasks: Perfect Week bonus +30 LUP
  • Reset Every Monday @ 00:00 UTC

Milestones

  • One-time, permanent completions per modpack (they do not reset).
  • Designed to reward standard progression goals you naturally hit while playing.
  • Built to be cross-modpack compatible wherever possible (so we can maintain multiple modpacks long-term without reinventing the system each time).

Per-modpack progression (important)

LUP is earned per modpack.

That means your ATM progression is separate from your other modpacks, unless explicitly stated in rank rules (see the ranks post):

  • LUP earnings are per modpack
  • Progression pathways exist from modpack ranks into global tiers via purchase or special wins (events/giveaways/in-game luck mechanics)

Why we designed it this way

We plan to host multiple big modpacks and we’re building CW into an MMO-style experience.

Milestones/tasks are designed to be cross-modpack compatible where possible, which:

  • Rewards actual gameplay
  • Makes progression consistent across servers
  • Lets the dev team maintain multiple packs long-term without reinventing everything every time

FAQ

Does being online count?

“Being in the server counts” is part of the concept, but LUP is intended to reward active play (not pure online time). Exact AFK behavior is documented in the features post and may evolve.

Will top earners get rewards?

Not yet. Right now we track. In a future update we plan reward top earners.

Can I see my LUP?

Yes — exact commands/menus are documented in the Wiki page(s). (Under Development)
