How News Works Going Forward

We’re changing how we communicate updates so information stays readable today and still findable months later.

What’s changing

1) Discord = brief + scannable

Discord announcements will be:

  • Short
  • Easy on the eyes
  • Focused on what you need to do (downtime, action items, “does this affect me?”)

2) Website = the full breakdown

The detailed versions of posts will live on the website in News:

  • One post per topic (LUP, ranks, migrations, new servers, etc.)
  • Organized by category
  • Searchable
  • Easy to link (staff can send you one page instead of re-explaining everything)

3) Wiki = permanent “how it works”

If it’s not news and it’s not temporary, it belongs in the Wiki. Examples of Wiki topics (already in progress):

  • Economy basics
  • Sign shops (how to create/use)
  • Ranks + progression (LUP)
  • Chat colors / cosmetics
  • Network-specific systems that don’t belong in modpack documentation

Why we’re doing this

Discord is great for “right now” — but terrible for:

  • Finding a post from 2 months ago
  • Not reading through 300 messages
  • Avoiding repeated questions
  • Keeping guides up-to-date

The website solves that.

What you can expect

  • Major changes will always have a News post.
  • Most News posts will include:
    • TL;DR
    • Who this affects
    • Action items
    • FAQ
    • Links to related posts / wiki pages

Where to ask questions

If your question is about your account specifically (migration, rank, voucher, missing data):

  • Use Discord tickets (so we can handle it privately + properly).

If it’s a general question:

  • Ask in the public help channels (#ask-the-cubes).

Thanks for sticking with us, this makes everything easier going forward.
